AGIL™ Webinar Series: Introducing the Next Generation of Fiber Optic Intrusion Detection System for Critical Infrastructure

AGIL Thrive in the Dynamic Webinar Series: Introducing the Next Generation of Fiber Optic Intrusion Detection System for Critical Infrastructure is our very first webinar session – Encompassing a vibrant exchange of information sharing facilitated by technology and industry domain experts. This webinar aims to help security consultants, system integrators, A&Es, and end-user to make sound decisions in securing critical infrastructure.

Attendee Breakdown

In our presentation, it entails a comparison of various fibre technologies, its advantages and disadvantages, best-fit applications and how its performance during an intrusion attack. In most cases, common fibre technologies are vulnerable to defeat during a cut attempt with the technical concepts to explain why.

Following, we uncover advanced innovation and technology that has a strong vulnerability to defeat to tampers – the FBG embedded PIDS. With evaluations of the benefits, how it works, and integration, this technology presents a definite solution to protect critical infrastructure and overcome present-day security challenges.

At the end of the presentation, we had allocated some time to engage with the attendees and had overwhelming questions posed. Within the timeframe given, our panellists were able to address a handful of concerns right away. Following are some general questions posed by attendees that would be helpful to address any concerns you may have.

Question: How do you address concerns of lightning strikes or interference for your sensor cables and any other field-deployed devices?

Answer: There are no outside electronics that could be damaged by lightning. The full fibre-optic sensor cable outside is immune to lightning damage.

Question: Do you have any project references on where your product has been installed? Can you briefly share some of your deployments?

Answer: Yes, we do. There are extensive miles of AGIL Fence currently installed around the world. We encourage you to visit some of our critical infrastructure case studies here. Let us know if you are keen to have a project together and a tailored solution customised for your premise here.

Question: Are there any special skills required to install this system?

Answer: The installation is straightforward, and a security technician with training will be able to install and maintain. We conduct product training and certification programmes across the globe. You may contact us at AGILFence@stengg.com if you are keen to find out more about the offerings available.

Question: In the event of site expansion, how long is the downtime that will affect the entire perimeter security systems?

Answer: It will not affect the entire perimeter system but just a section relative to the expansion site. This would be very short possibly just minutes to connect the new portion to the existing system. If you are planning for a new site expansion project and would like to a site review or security assessment, you may provide us with existing site information here, and our consultant will get in touch with you.

With that, we understand that different facilities would require to meet different objectives and requirements as to each site conditions. In particular, critical infrastructure like utility sites, military facilities, prisons and correctional centres and other crucial state associations. When considering physical intrusion detection systems (PIDS) to safeguard national assets, it is recommended to deploy a system that has been certified with the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI).

Do you know that our FBG technology is specially invented to protect national infrastructure and, at the same time recognised by the CPNI for its unparalleled performance?
