AgilFence PIDS Participated in the Program for Applied Research in Airport Security (PARAS) by Safe Skies

National Safe Skies Alliance (Safe Skies) is a non-profit organization that works with airports, government, and industry to maintain a safe and effective security system. Safe Skies’ core services focus on helping airport operators make informed decisions about airport security technologies and procedures.

Airport operators are starting to see the potential benefits of using perimeter security systems and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) in airport’s day-to-day operations, inspections and planning. The PARAS Guidebook on Guidance for Integrating UAS into Airport Security is to be used by airport management and staff to understand the benefits of, and the processes for, the integration of UAS into airport security programs.

AgilFence Perimeter Intrusion Detection System (PIDS) was selected as part of the study because of its proven track records in airport security installations, and that it is technologically ready to seamlessly integrate with other third party systems. AgilFence PIDS proved its capability to successfully integrate with both autonomous and tethered Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) in the study. The location pin-point accuracy feature of AgilFence PIDS allowed it to give exact coordinates information to the UAS.
